Home / Fiber Optic     Pigtails Pigtails are fibre-optic cables (usually a 900 μm buffered fibre) at one end with a connector. They are spliced onto multi-fibre loose-tube cables within cable termination boxes and distribution frames. The connector end is either then connected to a patch panel or directly to the transmission equipment. Patch Cord Fibre-optic cables equipped with connectors at both ends are called patch cables.
